MSAS for 2021

We are excited to announce District 75 Middle School After-School (MSAS) for SY 2020-21! This year's MSAS will run 100% remotely in two, six-week cohorts so we can accommodate as many students as possible in a remote environment that allows for appropriate staff supervision and student engagement.

D75 MSAS Schedule and Program Implementation


Resource Fair Cohort 1: Week of March 22, 2021 (For teachers, paras and administrators)

  1. Cohort 1: March 22, 2021 – May 7, 2021 (6 Weeks).

  • Session 1: 3:00pm - 4:15pm (For remote students)

  • Session 2: 4:15pm - 5:30pm (For in-person students)

  1. Resource Fair Cohort 2: Week of May 10, 2021 (For teachers, paras and administrators)

  2. Cohort 2: May 17, 2021 – June 25, 2021 (6 Weeks)

  • Session 1: 3:00pm - 4:15pm (For remote students)

  • Session 2: 4:15pm - 5:30pm (For in-person students)The MSAS initiative is a mandated 6 hour (1 hour and 15 min a day) per week program that will follow the schedule below:

  • Monday: ELA Day

  • Tuesday: Math Day

  • Wednesday: Physical Education Day

  • Thursday: Unique Enrichment Day

  • Friday: No After School


Programs must have a strong academic intervention component (Failure Free Reading, MyOn News/MyOn, Achieve 3000, STMath and/or Dreambox). The program must be further enhanced by a physical education component, STEM and/or Arts components. Fable Vision Animation-ish/Scribblitt can be used to enhance your enrichment program as well. Data collection will be required.

Schools have access to ALL of the programs listed above for academic intervention. In addition to the above, if your school has other academic intervention curricula that you’d like to utilize in


your MSAS program, please reach out to me to discuss further.

Schools are expected to build program designs that will include, but do not need to be limited to, the following content areas:

1. Enrichment Activities

2. Leadership Development (Transition/College & Career Readiness)

3. Academic Support

4. Physical Education and Healthy Living

5. Family Engagement (Activities related to Parental Involvement and Support)
