Extra! Extra! Read All About It! MSAS Newsletter Templates

Quick Guide on How to produce a MSAS newsletter in Pages

Newsletters from last year can be used as the basis for your own newsletter. Try to keep you format as close as you can to the template so that we can have a degree of consistency throughout all five boroughs. Download this Pages template for a P186X newsletter.

• Clicking on the very top of the page will allow you to change the date and the name of the school.

• The area in red can be changed by clicking on the “Style” section (in the upper right hand corner and this will allow you to change the color.

• You can drag the pictures you want over the existing pictures and the size them to fit the area you want to cover.

• If you want to put a border around the photos, go to the “Style” section again, in the upper right corner and find the word “border”. In that section you will find different size boarders that you can use to frame your picture. Highlight the photo and then choose the boarder you want to use.

• When you start writing your text, don’t panic if the pictures you put in the newsletter start to move around. After you finish typing the text you can move the images around or back to where they were.

• If you follow the template as your guide, you should be able to have you newsletter look identical to the template if you keep your text the same length as your template, along with keeping the photo size the same as the template.

• The more you work with the newsletter template the better you will become at producing dazzling, creative newsletters.
